If you are like me, you spend time on the computer. Naturally this leads to your kids wanting to spend time on the computer. Unfortunately this often leads to them mashing the keys on your keyboard until something interesting happens… like deleting important files and such. After some searching on the net I found Baby Smash which lets you little ones pound away. The usual Alt-Tab, Windows key, Shift-Esc, and the like don’t work in this program. The only way to get out is to hit Alt-F4. It’s not an impossibility so you would be foolish to leave your child completely unattended but it is obscure enough that you could probably step out of the room for a sec.
You can find this program at http://www.hanselman.com/babysmash/ and if you use it and like it, donate.

Well my big day is coming up soon. I’ll be turning 30 soon and throwing myself a party on saturday. I’m not sure that I’ll be able to pull off all the food I want to, but I’m going to put my best into trying. I don’t have much time to prep and practice making some dishes but that is my own fault for doing everything so last minute.
On a separate and unrelated topic. I’ve been having lots of fun reading through Not Always Right.

We have been teaching our child baby sign but one of the things we find frustrating is finding out what a sign is that we don’t know. Online resources often consist of images with an arrow and you are left trying to decipher how you are really supposed to perform the sign. Enter a cool website I just found Signing Savvy. It features a search engine the brings up a video showing you how to sign any of the words in it’s database. For non-registered users you can look up 5 signs a day, registered users get 10 signs a day for free. For unlimited usage it is $10 a month or $50 a year. If you are like us and just want to look up a word now and then, this is a great free resource.
